The series of volumes of United States Marine Corps Heroes comprise a virtual library of the history of Marine Corps Awards, and the citations describing the heroic acts that earned them. Volume I contains not only the names, citation, and basic personal information of every Marine award of the Medal of Honor in history, but also a basic history of the award itself. It further includes photographs of nearly all recipients from World War I to present, as well as the photos of numerous recipients from earlier wars.

Additional volumes in this to be an 9-volume library of Marine Corps heroes awarded the highest decorations provide the history and a comprehensive collection of citations for these heroic Marines.

Marine Corps Medals of HonorAwards of the Medal of Honor (and DSMs)

Volume I - Medal of Honor, contains the citation for each and every award of the Medal of Honor to members of the U.S. Marine Corps. Basic personal data is included for each recipient including, when known, date and place of birth, date of death, place of burial, and interesting personal notes.  Photos are included for nearly ALL recipients from WWI to present, with a significant number of photos of earlier recipients. Medal of Honor appendixes are included with such information as Medal of Honor facts, details on the 19 double recipients, identification of the Living Medal of Honor recipients, recipients by rank, MOS, military academy, unit, home town, and burial location.

This volume also contains the citation for EVERY award of the now-defunct Marine Corps Brevet Medal, and nearly every award of the Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medals from inception of the awards through 1975, with a comprehensive collecton of citations or synopsis for DSM awards from 1975 to present.

Appendixes include analysis of awards by rank, military academy, unit, home town and more. It also includes a comprehensive table of ALL Marine Corps Air Aces, including identifying their known awards.

This volume also includes "The Book of Generals and Leadership" which details Marine Corps leadership (Joint Chiefs of Staff, Chiefs and Vice Chiefs of Naval Operations, Commandants and Assistant Commandants of the Marine Corps, and Sergeants Major of the Marine Corps, with photos and biographies of these leaders.  (542 Pages)

(524 Pages) Volume III contains the citations for all awards of the Navy Cross to U.S. Marines from 1946 to Present, including basic personal information and some recipient photos. Shinmiyangyo  In 1871 U.S. Marines and Navy Bluejackets engaged forces in Korea in the little-known battle the Coreans (Koreans) called the Shinmiyangyo. It was the United States first foreign war, lasting but for a brief weekend, but resulted in the first awards of the Medal of Honor for heroism on foreign shores.
