Heroes in the Global War on Terrorism

      OIF OEF

Discover a new generation of American Military Heroes. The five-volume set of "Heroes in the Global War on Terrorism" contain the citations for all Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, and Air Force Crosses awarded for actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. This compilation is estimated to be more than 95% complete for identifying recipients of the Silver Star (1119 awards) with full-text citations for more than 70% of the Silver Stars. They also contain photographs of nearly 1,000 of the 1,200 award recipients.

The citations "speak for themselves" to reflect the heroism of a new generation of warriors. In addition, multiple appendixes analyze the awards and provide valuable insights and analysis to the combat operations and heroism of our men and women who served, and continue to serve, on the front lines in the Global War on Terrorism.
